There is a family of mutton chopped primates that watch me from the fence
One - crossed legged with a banana - looks on with wisdom filled eyes as if to say:
"You think you'll find Him in those books? Ha! Come and seek Him in the depth of the forest,"
but he is playing false
My Lord may not make His home in books but he is as real here as anywhere
Alive in the city - the bustling hub where tears meet laughter ready and sure:
Crashing wave over wave
Overlapping joy with despair -
I can almost catch the eternal chords of a harmony.
I can almost understand
Bored,
my friends scamper off in search of easier marks
