you seem like a multitude of waves
and i ask myself as you smile
- your mouth full of morning -
is it worth the risk?
you sat with me on a park bench in the pregnant silence of strangers
but when the moon illuminated the clouds in a symphony of light
and a Cambridge change
opened these brown eyes
to the familiarity
I remembered
i have heard that silence;
in the inrush of air that inflates lungs and leads to the edge of reason,
to the proximity of the Numinous,
in the painstaking rush of reality that threatens my precious calm
and that my friend is how I know this is worth the risk.
