I wouldn't mind the space to stretch
My arms past their length
And spin
Slowly
Embracing the sky
Smiling at the handhills
Palms up
While wheat runs in the breeze
The wooden teeth of an old fence returning my grin
I'd seek my freedom through stretched barbed wire
Spear grass at my feet
I would slip through bear trap's teeth
Like an art thief
Stealing the sky
I would gather speed as I crested the hill
Crunching a crocus
Breathing home
My arms past their length
And spin
Slowly
Embracing the sky
Smiling at the handhills
Palms up
While wheat runs in the breeze
The wooden teeth of an old fence returning my grin
I'd seek my freedom through stretched barbed wire
Spear grass at my feet
I would slip through bear trap's teeth
Like an art thief
Stealing the sky
I would gather speed as I crested the hill
Crunching a crocus
Breathing home
