Matthew 22:15-22; a revolutionary attempt.

What should I give; my heart, my life, to Caesar Lord of law?
Unfaced tormentor crouched beneath bureaucratic rule of flaws
What can I give; My truck, my books, my ring, my very blood?
What is his due? A tax? Perhaps a reverent flower's bud?
A king? No – no kings have we. An emperor! We've none to be seen.
We the people rule by double edged ballots and inattention.
I ask again what is his? What do I owe?
A quadrille and a hunting bow? Or no.
Give Caesar what is Caesar's please
Systematic making low, unjust laws, and unploughed snow
It seems what's Caesar's is disrespect
and despotic power near unchecked.
I'll choose to serve a different Lord
until this whole things been restored.
